On our first day in Vancouver, we decided to do the Grouse Grind, a 1000 vertical meter walk up Grouse Mountain that attracts a hoard of people each day.
It also happened to be Fathers day. For my fathers day present, Olivia got off my shoulders and walked for about 100-200 of the 1000 meters. She did really well.
Another day, Shannon and Olivia went into Vancouver while I went climbing in Squamish with my friend Joe.

Their first stop was Shannons old work place where there is a 23 metre pendulum. Apparently it wasn't working at the time.
Then they were off to Science World. Olivia was sad because she didn't get to sit in the front seat of the Sky Train. Some old guy was reliving his childhood fantasies of flying a space ship.
I missed out on seeing my favourite dinosaur. No, not T-Rex. It's a Giganotosaurus and was the biggest meat eater in South America about 95 million years ago. It was also the star of the only book I have ever written.
Ah, the friendly dinosaur that killed Bruton in the cartoon "Dinosaur". The Carnotaurus, which is named for its horns on its head.
Stanly park holds the Vancouver Aquarium.
On the next Sky Train ride, guess who got to sit in the "Driver's Seat".
Then there is the Sea Bus. Yet another one of Vancouver's great transport methods. Ok, so it is really just a ferry but Sea Bus sounds better.
Welcome 'home' to Vancouver :-) It must have been fun to relive some of the memories again but this time with Olivia. The Science Centre looks like fun. I shall have to take Eve there, Olivia. She loves pushing buttons and pulling levers and moving things around in places like that!!! And if you can do (part of) the Grouse Grind, then surely we can too!!!!! Bears, birds and bubbles from the water slide! And dinosaurs too. Tell Daddy I prefer to think of it as the 'first book he's ever written'. Not the 'only'. Glad you got the pilot seat on the way back on the Sky Train. Just goes to show you shouldn't be sad if you don't get what you want the first time. A 50% hit rate is pretty good!! Oh, and I see that there is a special blue parrot exhibit at the......aquarium?!?!
